Peru: a Chance to Experience the Unknown
Peru has a rich cultural history dating back to ancient cultures such as the Incas. The Inca Trail is a popular route stretching 33km through the Andes mountains to the lost Incan city of Machu Picchu, through cloud forests and herds of grazing llama. There are many such historic sites in this wonderful country, the Incan Trail is merely one of the best known. Less popular areas are generally more rugged and unexplored, perfect for the adventurous traveller.
The other major geographical aspect of Peru is of course the Amazon rainforest, which offers a wholly different experience to the Andes. Trekking through this vibrant, wild landscape is sure to make any traveller feel like they''re in the middle of an Indiana Jones movie. The Parque Nacional Manu is a responsibly managed area that preserves the wildlife and environment, allowing travellers to see areas and wildlife usually inaccessible to humans.
